There is Always Something to be Thankful for

thanksgiving

I hope you enjoy your day relaxing and chowing down with your friends and family!! I know those creamy mash potatoes are calling (er, yelling for me) your name but today is the perfect day to reflect on all your blessings and revert your focus to gratitude. So before you face plant into all those delicious Thanksgiving fixings, remember there is always something to be thankful for. I try to apply this notion everyday so that I remember to not take anything for granted and enjoy every little thing that I’ve been blessed with. My way of counting my blessings is I start my day by writing in my gratitude journal and list 10 things I am thankful for. It’s a tip I picked up from the book The Magic by Rhonda Byrne. Honestly I feel a bajillion times better and my morning begins so optimistically which is a telling sign of how my day will go. I feel so light and happy, and let me tell you I was notorious for being super moody and so not a morning person. I mean sometimes its still a struggle but the days I do make time to write in my journal it makes a world of difference on how my day goes. If you don’t already have a gratitude journal going, maybe start with 5 things you are grateful for. Once you get going, you will see how easy it is to come up with sooo many more and more blessings will keep coming to you.

So this holiday, let our lives be full of THANKS and GIVING
